New Financial Counseling Certification Now Available
The Texas Credit Union League and the Texas Credit Union Foundation are pleased to offer the CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) in a new and exciting delivery format. Now this unique certification program will be available for all credit union staff in a format that combines the low cost and convenience of a self-study program with the group hands-on learning and networking of an off-site school! Major program components include eight comprehensive webinars and two group training and support meetings, which conclude with a proctored exam. Mike Delker, Senior Vice President of the Texas Credit Union League, says, “The FiCEP certification is a prestigious designation that will allow credit union staff to gain greater knowledge, which will even better equip them to handle member interactions, lending and collections.” The FiCEP program is being offered at a very low cost, with students only responsible for the purchase of study materials and any related travel expenses. This is possible due to a generous grant from the Texas Credit Union Foundation. Courtney Moran, Executive Director of the TCUF, states “The Foundation is proud to be part of a program that will strengthen credit unions’ respective communities. Not only are we increasing the member’s knowledge and getting them one step closer to financial freedom, but we also are educating our own staff members on the importance of financial education and how it translates to success in everyday life.
“We are extremely grateful for the contributions we receive throughout the year. Because of the ongoing generosity, we are able to support education such as this that will touch credit unions across the state,” adds Moran. We congratulate the following credit union professionals for receiving their Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designations in 2012!
