| Project NEFE is a statewide collaborative initiative to bring the accredited High School Financial Planning Program along with comprehensive training to schools across Texas, all free of charge. The project's goal is to establish the new NEFE HSFPP as the leading resource in Texas classrooms.
The NEFE HSFPP is implemented across the United States through the collaboration of credit unions and the Cooperative Extension System. In Texas, these two entities are represented by the Texas Credit Union Foundation and Texas Cooperative Extension of the Texas A&M University System.
Project NEFE was launched with a celebration luncheon on Friday, March 19, 2007 in Dallas, followed by a full-day "Train the Trainer" program on March 30. Following this debut training, the Project NEFE team traveled across Texas to conduct additional full-day sessions. Please click on the NEFE High School Financial Planninng Program link for the 2008 schedule, which includes dates, locations, and an agenda for the trainings.
As part of the project, the Foundation created the Project NEFE Network, credit union professionals and Cooperative Extension educators already familiar with the program and who are interested in assisting with the disseminiation of the new materials. The Network also includes those individuals who would like to become more involved with financial edcuation.
