Foundation Response to Oklahoma Tornados You Can Help
During the past week, Oklahoma has been hit by two devastating tornados. On Monday, Moore, Okla., was hit by a mile-wide tornado that left behind significant destruction and loss of life and property. Many in Texas have expressed an interest in helping our neighbors to the north, and the Texas Credit Union Foundation is working directly with the Oklahoma Credit Union Foundation to ensure an appropriate response and partnership, assisting member credit union employees during this time of need.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected either directly or indirectly by the recent destruction in Oklahoma," Texas Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran says.
As many as 26 credit union employees in the Oklahoma City area have been affected by this destruction, resulting in severe damage or complete loss of homes as well as automobiles. The Foundation is now accepting online donations to the Oklahoma Tornado Relief Fund, while also assisting the Oklahoma Credit Union Foundation in its disaster relief grant process.
"True to the People Helping People philosophy, many have asked how you can help," Moran says. "The Foundation is poised to assist Oklahoma every step of the way and truly appreciate your contributions and overall support."
