The Texas Credit Union Foundation (TCUF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that has as its mission, "Empowering People To Improve Their Financial Well Being." With its mission as a guiding force, TCUF has three distinct focus areas
TCUF provides grants and scholarships to support these areas of focus, thanks to generous support from Texas credit unions, the Texas Credit Union League and its affiliate, Credit Union Resources, Inc., credit union chapters, corporate sponsorships, Community Investment Fund investors, industry groups and individual donations. In 2011, TCUF approved $237,285 in grants, sponsorships and scholarships. The Foundation also administered an additional $140,164 in Community Investment Fund grants on behalf of the Texas Credit Union League.

** General grants include training calendar grants for credit unions over $35 million in assets and Community Service grants. The Community Service grant allows affiliated credit unions, chapters, and credit union-affiliated and/or collaborating organizations to apply for grants to assist in local community service activities.
** CIF grants include training calendar grants for credit unions under $35 million in assets. Also included are supervisory annual audits, software conversions, planning sessions, and equipment and technical assistance for credit unions of all sizes.
